Habit Hero
Quests, coins and a grown-up's yes.
A habit game for families with children aged 4 to 12. Parents set quests and rewards, heroes claim them, and nothing counts until a parent approves. No ads, no tracking, and no accounts for children.

Why it exists
Most habit apps for children are built like other apps: streaks that guilt, notifications that nag, points that arrive for tapping a button, and a sign-up that asks for more about a child than any app needs to know.
Habit Hero starts from a different rule. Nothing counts until a grown-up says so. A child claims a quest, a parent approves it, and only then do the coins arrive, worked out on the server and recorded once. Rewards are promises between the two of you, and the app keeps track of them.
A child in Habit Hero is a first name and a cartoon. There is no chat, no public profile, no feed, no photos and no advertising, and a rejected quest says “Not this time” rather than anything that would make a six-year-old feel they failed.
Claimed by a hero, approved by a parent.
Set up the family
A parent signs in with a one-time code and adds each child as a hero: a first name, a cartoon avatar and, if you like, an age band. Pick starter quests such as brushing teeth, reading for 15 minutes or going to bed on time.
The hero claims a quest
On the parent's phone in a PIN-locked kid mode, or on the child's own tablet linked with a six-character code. A linked tablet can claim quests and see progress, and nothing else.
A parent says yes
Approve it and the coins, level and streak update while a celebration plays on the hero's screen. Or send it back with a note, which reads "Not this time" and never shows red.
What it does
- Rewards you promise
- List rewards priced in coins, or promise one for a five-day streak or a coin total. The hero sees how many coins are left to go, and you mark the reward as given.
- Saving never costs a level
- Levels count every coin ever earned, so spending coins on a reward never takes a hero down a level.
- Made for early readers
- Short words with an icon beside each one, large buttons, hand-drawn animated quests and avatars, a sky that turns to stars at night, and a calmer celebration when the device asks for reduced motion.
- A week at a glance
- A report of the week as bars, the quest each hero keeps up best, and a month calendar of perfect, partial and missed days.
- Fair by construction
- Coins, levels and streaks are worked out on the server, once per parent decision, and every decision is recorded. A child cannot award coins to themselves.
- Five regions
- US, UK, Canada, Australia and India, each with its own currency, date format, first day of the week and spelling, Mom or Mum.

Questions
What do you collect about my child?
A first name or nickname, an avatar and, if you choose, an age band. No email, phone number, surname, birthday or photo. The parent's email is the only account.
Can my child use their own tablet?
Yes. Link it with a six-character code from your phone. It can claim quests and see progress, and you can disconnect it at any time.
Does an AI decide anything?
No. Every rule is plain arithmetic a parent can read, and every coin comes from a parent's decision.
Can we delete everything?
Yes. Deleting the family from Settings removes every record and the parent's account with it.
When can we use it?
It is not released yet. Android comes first, after a closed test. Ask for early access and we will let you know.
